Cancellation and Refund policies

Life happens—plans change. This policy explains how you can cancel or reschedule lessons, when refunds apply to assignments, and what options you have if unexpected events disrupt your booking. All terms are governed by the laws of Bangalore, India, and any dispute will be heard exclusively in Bangalore courts.
1. Definitions
A Service is any live lesson, consultation, or assignment delivered via Teacher and Task. A Lesson Booking is a scheduled live session with an instructor, while an Assignment Order refers to written or coded work you commission from us. Handover is the moment the finished work or lesson is supplied to you. Failing to attend a lesson without sufficient notice counts as a No-Show.
2. Cancellation by You
You may cancel a lesson free of charge up to twelve hours before its start time. If you cancel with less than twelve hours’ notice we refund half the fee, and a No-Show results in no refund or credit. For assignments, cancelling within twenty-four hours—provided work has not begun—grants a full refund. If work has started but the first draft is not yet delivered, we refund the balance after a twenty-percent administrative fee. Once the final hand-over takes place, the order is non-refundable.
3. Rescheduling Lessons
You may move a lesson to a new slot free of charge as long as you do so six hours or more before it starts. Rescheduling between six and twelve hours ahead incurs a twenty-five percent fee, while changes made with fewer than six hours’ notice are treated as cancellations under the rules above.
4. No-Show Policy
A missed lesson without the required notice is non-refundable. Two No-Shows within a thirty-day period trigger a temporary freeze on new bookings until you contact support.
5. Packages & Bundles
If you purchase a multi-lesson package, any unused lessons are refundable after deducting late-cancel or No-Show fees. For bundles that mix lessons and assignments, each component follows the respective rules outlined in this policy.
6. How to Request a Refund
Log into your dashboard, open My Services or My Orders, and choose Cancel / Request Refund. Alternatively, email support@teacherandtask.com with your order ID and reason. Attach supporting documents—for example, medical proof—or feedback on an assignment within fifteen days of hand-over to help us process the request promptly.
7. Feedback & Revisions
You have fifteen days after hand-over to request tweaks to an assignment. Beyond that period the file is considered final and non-refundable. For full details see our Revision Policy.
8. Refund Timeline
Once approved, refunds are issued to your original payment method within fourteen business days, though your bank’s processing time may add a slight delay.
9. If We Need to Cancel
Tutor illness, force-majeure events, or rare platform outages may force us to cancel a lesson. You may then choose between a free reschedule, a substitute tutor, or a full refund—whichever suits you best.
10. Special Circumstances
We waive late-cancel fees for documented medical emergencies. If a technical failure on our side interrupts a session, we will reschedule it free of charge. Recognised holidays follow modified rules published in our Holiday Schedule.
11. Governing Law
This policy is interpreted according to Indian law, and disputes are resolved exclusively in Bangalore courts.
12. Policy Updates
